IACC Recognizes Alex Cabanas, Creston Woods and Tracy Stuckrath at IACC’s Connect Awards Evening.

During IACC Americas Connect, delegates were treated to a gala awards evening of recognition at Park MGM. Congratulations to our recipients!

The Mel Hosansky Award

Alex Cabanas, President, Pyramid Global Hospitality, was presented with the IACC Mel Hosansky Award at the IACC Americas Connect conference in Las Vegas.


Mark Cooper, IACC’s CEO and Lotta Boman, IACC global Board Director presented the award on behalf of IACC Americas President Nancy Lindemer and they recognized the scores if achievements and impact Alex has had on the association and members lives around the world, over a number of years and conveyed what an honor it was to highlight just some of these at the awards dinner in Las Vegas. 

Alex has been a member of the America’s board for 12 years to 2020 and has served and led the IACC global board for 8-years.  He has taken a leading role co-chairing the IACC 2.0 Task Force that are recognized for transforming the association in 2012. 

Nancy Lindemer commented, “This person is a major influencer in our establishment of the MPI strategic partnership that has linked our venue-based association with the key buyers looking for the unique IACC difference.” 

Alex has been a robust supporter of all conferences, both in the Americas chapter and abroad and he has attended various European and Australia Asia Pacific conferences.  He was an initial contributor in the group who decided to create a brand around IACC’S goal to be THE thought leader for small to mid-sized conferences and meetings, The IACC Meeting Room of the Future program. He has supported this project intellectually, financially and strategically.

Tracy Stuckrath of Thrive Meetings! was awarded the 2022 Award of Excellence in recognition of her contributions to IACC’s education and research programs in culinary health and wellbeing.  

Creston Woods was awarded the IACC Pyramid Award and IACC acknowledged the long and deep contributions to IACC’s board and projects such as establishing the regional ambassador program.
