TJ Fimmano Wins 2023 IACC Mel Hosansky Award

Susan Liston, IACC Americas President and Global Board Member, along with Mel Hosansky Award Winner Paul Dolce presented TJ Fimmano, General Manager of FLIK Hospitality with the Mel Hosansky Award for Distinguished Service.

Susan Liston, IACC Americas President and Paul Dolce, Vice President of Hospitality for Arch Amenities Group, and former IACC Americas Board Director and previous recipient of the Mel Hosansky Award, presented the award and they recognized the scores if achievements and impact TJ has had on the association and members lives around the world, over a number of years and conveyed what an honor it was to highlight just some of these at the awards conference in Durham.

This year’s winner is well-known throughout the family, particularly in the Americas chapter where TJ has been a long standing contributor. TJ served on the global board of directors from 2011 to 2016, but has been part of their chapter board for exactly 18 year’s and 3 months!

TJ Fimmano’s impact on the association goes way beyond the impressive list of years of service and volunteering though and whose unwavering determination to do all that is necessary to ensure IACC’s long term viability for years to come, has had by far the biggest impact.

The awards evening attendees heard how TJ stepped up join the IACC 2.0 Task Force and a small group of volunteers charged with creating a vision for IACC. He took on the presidency at a chapter level at a time where the most fundamental change was about to take place and in 4 years of him leading the Americas chapter, IACC opened new offices in Chicago, Washington DC and welcomed new staff to support the strategic plans for IACC.

TJ’s then boss, Andy Dolce, was a founding member of IACC in 1981, another Mel Hosansky awardee, so TJ had a whole heap of expectations on his shoulders to follow in Andy’s footsteps and to contribute to the industry in his own way.

This person is a major influencer not only in the Americas, but also in Australia and Europe, having attended many global conferences. If it were not for TJ’s encouragement and support to me personally over his time on the board and since then, quite simply I would not be in the position I am today.
– Mark Cooper, IACC CEO
