The Event Industry Council’s recent webinar featuring Mark Cooper discussing the IACC European Knowledge Festival and its sustainability focus, attracted over 1,400 meeting planner attendees from around the globe. It still matters! 

For 6 months, IACC has been busy re-vamping Green Star, a certification cost-free to IACC venues and used by many to demonstrate their excellence today and strive for higher levels in future. 

A global volunteer group evaluated what is important today, set new standards and raised the bar to ensure Green Star remained the leading venue certification globally. 

Kate Bacon, IACC Green Star Officer commented, “Any IACC member achieving Green star now, can be assured they are amongst a small group who are achieving excellence. Even if you currently have the existing Green Star certification, you can undergo a new application, with the new 2020 standards.” 

The new standards have identified practices which have a greater impact on the environment, awarding higher points against these areas.
